How to Create a Modifier

Name

The name that will be displayed for this Modifier throughout the system.

Description

The description of the Modifier that will be visible within the Modifier settings.

Price Calculation Mode

The mode used to calculate the price of the Modifier. There are three modes to choose from:

• Cost+

  • Automatically generate the price for the Modifier based off of the calculated costs and a certain margin provided.

  • You can choose whether or not to use the print job margin.

    • If you use the print job margin, the Target Margin set for whichever Print Job the Modifier is added to will be used to calculate the price of the Modifier.

    • If you choose not to use the print job margin, you will be able to provide a custom margin you wish to use for the Modifier.

• Fixed Price

  • Use a fixed price for the Modifier, regardless of what the estimated Modifier costs are.

• Price per SQFT

  • Use a price per SQFT for the Modifier. This will be calculated based off of the square footage of the Print Job this Modifier is applied to. 

Cost Type

The cost type used for the Modifier.

Note: The cost type controls the of Components, Devices, cost settings, and placement settings available for the Modifier.

There are three cost types available:

• Linear

  • A cost type that calculates the cost of the Modifier based off of linear length (inches). This is based off of the linear length of the Print Job the Modifier is added to.

• Each

  • A cost type that calculates the cost of the Modifier based off of the cost of a singular unit of the Modifier.

• SQFT

  • A cost type that calculates the cost of the Modifier based off of the square footage of the Print Job the Modifier is added to. 

Link Components

The ability to link Components to the Modifier. You are able to link multiple Components to a Modifier.

Note: You are only able to link Components to a Modifier that share the same cost type as the Modifier. For example, if you have a Modifier that is using a linear cost type, you can only link Components to the Modifier that also use a linear cost type.

Link Devices

The ability to link a Device to the Modifier. You are only able to link one Device to a Modifier.

Device Type

The type of device you wish to link to the Modifier.

Note: You are only able to link Cutting Devices to Modifiers that are using a linear cost type.

Device

The Device you would like to link to the Modifier.

Note: You are only able to link Fabrication Devices that have a speed type that matches the Modifier cost type. For example, if you have a Modifier that is using a linear cost type, you can only link Fabrication Devices to the Modifier that use the linear speed type. 

Link Labor

The ability to link a Labor to the Modifier. You are only able to link one Labor to a Modifier.

Note: You are only able to link a Labor to a Modifier if you are not linking a Device to the Modifier. If you link a Device to a Modifier, it will use the Labor that is tied to that Device. 

Labor

The Labor you would like to link to the Modifier.

Labor Speed

The speed for the Labor linked to the Modifier. The input value for this will change based on the cost type selected:

• Linear cost type

  • Measured in in/hr

• Each cost type

  • Measured in time each (Hr, Min, Sec)

• SQFT cost type

  • Measured in sqft/hr

Minimum Time

The minimum amount of time able to be computed for this Labor when it is used. This allows for some time to be computed for the Labor no matter what.

Cost

The cost for the Modifier. This is only available if the Modifier does not have a Component, Device, or Labor linked to it. The input value for this will change based on the cost type selected:

• Linear cost type

  • cost / in

• Each cost type

  • cost each

• SQFT cost type

  • cost / sqft

Placement

Settings regarding how the Modifier will be placed on the Print Job. These settings change based on the cost type selected:

• Linear cost type

  • Top, Left, Bottom, Right

    • Determine the sides of the Print Job you would like to apply the Modifier to

      • Use Print Size

        • Determine whether or not you would like to use the calculated print size when applying this Modifier to a Print Job

      • Print Size

        • The size you wish to use for applying this Modifier to a side of the Print Job. Available if you choose to not use the print size of the Print Job.

• Each cost type

  •  Use Spacing

    • Determine whether or not you want to use spacing to calculate the quantity needed for the Modifier when applied to a Print Job.

      • Spacing

        • Available only if "Use Spacing" is enabled. The space (in inches) desired between each quantity of the Modifier.

      • Top, Left, Bottom, Right

        • Available only if "Use Spacing" is enabled. Determine the sides of the Print Job you would like to apply the Modifier to

      • Use Print Size

        • Available only if "Use Spacing" is enabled. Determine whether or not you would like to use the calculated print size when applying this Modifier to a Print Job

      • Print Size

        • Available only if "Use Spacing" is enabled. The size you wish to use for applying this Modifier to a side of the Print Job. Available if you choose to not use the print size of the Print Job.

  • Quantity

    • Available only if "Use Spacing" is disabled. The quantity for the Modifier.

• SQFT cost type

  • Use Print Size

    • Determine whether or not you want to use the Print Job print size for calculating the square footage for the Modifier.

      • Custom Size

        • Available only if "Use Print Size" is disabled. The square footage you wish to use when applying this Modifier to a Print Job.
