How to Create a Fabrication Device
Create Fabrication Devices within ONYX Align that represent the fabrication devices used in your shop. Fabrication Devices can be tied to Print Jobs or Modifiers, and allow you to account for the costs of using various fabrication devices within your shop.
Table of Contents
(1) Navigate to Configuration > Cost Management > Fabrication Devices
(2) Click "+ Add"
(3) Provide information within the Fabrication Device settings
Field |
Information |
---|---|
Name |
The name that will be displayed for this Fabrication Device throughout the system. |
Speed Type |
The speed type used for the Fabrication Device. There are three speed types available:
Note: Fabrication Devices can only be tied to Modifiers that share the same speed/cost type. For example, a Fabrication Device that has a Linear speed type can only be tied to a Modifier that has a Linear cost type. |
Speed |
The speed at which the Fabrication Device operates. This field will change based on the speed type selected:

Minimum Time |
The minimum amount of time able to be computed for this Fabrication Device when it is used. This allows for some amount of time to be computed for the Fabrication Device no matter what. |
Operational Cost |
The estimated cost per hour for operating this Fabrication Device (excluding labor). |
Labor |
The Labor that is tied to the Fabrication Device. |
Labor Rate |
The percentage amount of time labor is required in relation to the fabrication device time. For example, if this value were set to 50% and you had a fabrication device time of 10 minutes, then the fabrication labor time would be 5 minutes (50% of 10 minutes). |
(4) Click "Save"
