(7.1) Determine the Job Size Calculation Method
The Job Size Calculation Method controls whether discounts are applied to the job based on:
Job Size Calculation Method |
Description |
Example |
---|---|---|
SQFT per Job |
The SQFT size of one quantity of the job (not accounting for multiple job or product quantities). |
If I had a job that was 1 SQFT (12”x12”) and had a quantity of 5, the size that would be used to determine discounts would be 1 SQFT (the size of the singular job, ignoring multiple quantities). |
Total Job SQFT |
The total SQFT used for the job, factoring in all quantities (both job and product quantities). Note: Using this method will remove the ability to use job quantity discounts. |
If I had a job that was 1 SQFT (12”x12”) and had a quantity of 5, the size that would be used to determine discounts would be 5 SQFT (the SQFT of the job multiplied by the quantity). |
(7.2) Configure size ranges with discount percentages
You are able to create size ranges that include a certain percentage discount to be applied to the job when the size of the job falls within the specified range. See the following:
In the provided example, I have set up four different discount brackets based on size:
1) From 0 SQFT up to 10 SQFT, apply a 0% discount to the job
2) From 10 SQFT up to 25 SQFT, apply a 15% discount to the job
3) From 25 SQFT up to 50 SQFT, apply a 20% discount to the job
4) From 50 SQFT and above, apply a 25% discount to the job
(8) Configure quantity discounts
Note: Quantity discounts are not available if you are using the Total Job SQFT Job Size Calculation Method.
You are able to create quantity ranges that include a certain percentage discount to be applied to the job when the total quantity of the job (factoring in both job quantity and product quantity) falls within the specified range. See the following:
In the provided example, I have set up four different discount brackets based on quantity:
1) From quantity 0 up to 10, apply a 0% discount
2) From quantity 10 up to 25, apply a 15% discount
3) From quantity 25 up to 50, apply a 20% discount
4) From quantity 50 and above, apply a 25% discount
(9) Review the Discount % table
The Discount % table displays the calculated % discounts that will be applied to the job based on the size and quantity ranges you have created. See the following:
In this example, I have set up both size and quantity discounts. The Discount % table is then able to tell me things like: At size 50 SQFT and above and from quantity 25 up to 50, a 45.00% discount will be applied to the job.
(10) Review the expected discounted pricing table
The expected discounted pricing table will have a different title depending on which price calculation mode you are using:
Cost+: Discount Job Actual Margin % table
Fixed Price: Discounted Job Fixed Price table
Price per SQFT: Discount Job Actual Price per SQFT table
This table displays what the expected pricing is going to be for the job based on the size and quantity ranges you have created. See the following:
In this example, I have set up both size and quantity discounts. The table is then able to tell me things like: At size 50 SQFT and above and from quantity 25 up to 50, my price per SQFT is going to be $5.50 (with a starting price per SQFT of $10.00).
