Directly Create G7 Grayscale Media Model

Linearization uses media models to set target densities for calibration. In the advanced view of calibration, new media models can be created: basic, colorimetric, or G7-based. Previously, the G7-based method required the use of an external G7 Curve tool to create the media model. Now, with the ability to perform G7 calibration, one can directly create a G7-based Media Model without using an external tool.

This is done by:

1. Create a new model by clicking [Advanced] in the calibration step (after reading calibration measurements) and clicking the + button to create a new model.

2. Select the "G7 Curve P2P51 Target” (requires spectrophotometer) option.

3. Print the Swatch (selecting the based on allows iterative G7 adjustments by printing using a previously generated G7 Media Model).

4. Measure the Swatch by pressing the [Read Advanced Swatch…] button.

5. Measure the Swatch with the selected color device.

6. Build will be disabled until "G7 Curve Options" is pressed. If G7 calibration is enabled on the license, selecting the "Use ONYX g7 Curve Tool" option and pressing OK will enable the build to be performed.

7. The option to Use G7 Native CMY allows for 100% CMY values to be used (rather than trying to balance all the way, and the number of control points to generate in the media model can be selected.
