Color Correction Tab  

In the Color Correction tab, you can add, modify, and remove Color Correction filters.

 

Use the "Filter" dialog to select which filter is applied when previewing and printing the job. Click the [Filter] button to open the dialog. In the "Filter" dialog (Figure 2), you can set the following options.

  • Job Settings - This option lets you determine which filter is used when printing a job. Check the [Apply Filter when Printing Job] check-box to apply a Color Correction Filter to the job. Select the filter you want to use from the pull-down menu.
  • Display - This option determines which Color Correction Filter is used when previewing an image in Job Editor.

 

To start the Filter Manager, click [Manager].

 

The [Tools] option changes the primary tool used in the [Color Correction] Tab (Figure 3). You can choose any of the following tools:

  • Primary Color Levels - This option allows you to modify the amount of saturation for each primary color channel. Click [Primary Color Curves] button for modification.
  • Color/Gray Levels - This option allows you to adjust the color composition of an image by altering the contrast, brightness, and saturation of your colors and the highlights, mid-tones, and shadows of your grays.
  • White/Black Limits - This option cleans up your image without introducing contrast.
  • Color Replacement - This option allows you to replace one color with another.

  • Named Color Replacements – This option allows you to replace one named color such as "PANTONE 3935 C" and "Spot 1" that you created with Device values. You can add other named colors clicking [Insert] button.

  • Spot Layer Tool - This option is generally used to print with White Inks.
  • Sample Point - This option allows you to determine any CMYK value in your image by hovering your cursor over a point on your image. The Before and After values represent the difference in color after a Color Correction Filter has been applied.

 

NOTE: For the [Spot Layer Tool] to work, you must have both a printer and a media that support Spot Colors.

 

The [Filter] options allow you to quickly control your current filter settings.

  • Set Filter as Current - Sets your current settings as the filter for your job.
  • Reset Filter - Removes all of your settings and restores the default settings.
